Volunteered at a Free Dental Clinic

Twice a year, the dental association where I used to work hosts a free dental clinic over two or three days. It has traveled to different cities, but was held in San Jose this weekend.

Over 2,000 people spend hours outside (often overnight) hoping for dental services such as implants, extractions, crowns, etc. They all come from various backgrounds, but the general consensus is that they can’t afford dental insurance. It is sad and yet incredibly inspiring at the same time. There are so many volunteers (dental professionals as well as community members) who give their time and energy to help. And there is always an abundance of new smiles at the end of each day.
