Today I…
Made
Three New Recipes
One for the adults. One for the baby. One for the
cats. (Yes, cats.)
Since I’ll be cooking all this week, I want to try a
few new recipes. (So you may see several this week.)
Recipe #1: (Adults) This one was so easy, I couldn’t
believe it. Brown 1 pound of hamburger meat and add one cup of spaghetti sauce.
While that is going, unroll a can of crescent rolls and put them in a cake or
pie pan (press the long ends together to form a crust and let the pointed sides
hang out over the edge of the pan about 3 inches. Cover the bottom with a cup
of shredded Italian cheese. Add the meat mixture. Fold in the tips of the crescent
rolls to come to a point in the middle (don’t overlap). Sprinkle a little
cheese and basil on top. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
So tasty.
Recipe #2: (Baby) Melt 2 Tbsp of butter and sauté 1
cup of sliced leek. Add 2 small potatoes and 1 medium carrot (peeled and
chopped, of course). Pour in 1 ¼ cups of
vegetable or chicken stock. After bringing it to a boil, cover, reduce heat,
and simmer for 10 minutes. Add ½ cup of frozen
peas and cook for 6 more minutes. Puree. (Note: in solid form this was a great
side dish for me and hubs.)
Recipe #3 (Cats): 1 can of tuna, 1 Tbsp of catnip, 1
egg, 1 Tbsp of olive oil – Blend, spoon onto cookie sheet, and bake at 350 for
10 minutes (or so). Let cool.
Watch your cats not eat them. (Argh.)
